Guitar Connect
Guitar Connect provides a mechanism to connect a Fretlight USB guitar, lighting it up directly with Sine Waves, Random patterns, Text, and Conway's Game of Life. In addition, for Bluetooth 4.0 enabled Macs, Guitar Connect allows you to share your USB Fretlight guitar as if it were a Bluetooth guitar, enabling it to be controlled via IOS applications such as:
- StringMaster Fretlight Edition
- MyJam
- Fretlight Chord and Scale App
- Any other applications designed for Fretlight Wireless Guitars (see Fretlight Wireless).
Supported Hardware for Bluetooth Sharing
To enable your USB guitar to be shared via Bluetooth, Guitar Connect requires Mac hardware supporting Bluetooth 4.0 or later (Bluetooth LE). To determine your Mac's Bluetooth version:
- Click the menu in the top left corner of the screen
- Select the "About This Mac" option
- Click on the "System Report" button.
- Click on the "Bluetooth" from the "Hardware" section on the left
- Around two thirds of the way down the list, you should find "LMP Version:" which needs to be 0x6 or higher. If not, your mac doesn't have Bluetooth LE and will not work with Guitar Connect.
